New Development Solutions Group (NDSG) member Community Enterprise Solutions (CE Solutions), a US Not for Profit 501 (c) (3), is a social entrepreneurship innovation incubator and implementation mechanism. CE Solutions creates access where there was none and jobs where there were none. We develop and implement innovative models that empower self-sufficient business and educational entrepreneurs to create sustainable impact in developing world communities.
We manage programs with our local constituents in Guatemala, Ecuador and Nicaragua to both identify long-standing economic, health and educational needs and design and execute innovative solutions. In addition, through our recent selection as an Ashoka Globalizer we are working to replicate our unique MicroConsignment Model in Latin America, Africa and Asia. CE Solutions changes "obstacles into opportunities" by converting traditional relief solutions into high-impact and locally owned and managed social enterprises and institutions. We work from the ground up creating engines of development that continually raise peoples' standards of living.  In order to implement CE Solutions’ work on a sustainable and continuous basis, creating a sense of ownership and instilling leadership, we have established three locally owned and run entities in Guatemala. These are Soluciones Comunitarias (SolCom), which runs the entrepreneurial initiatives, Turismo Ixil, which runs the
tourism businesses, and The Centro Explorativo Association, which runs the education initiatives. In Ecuador we work with our strategic partner, Yachana Foundation, to implement our MicroConsignment Model throughout the country. In Nicaragua, we are expanding our MicroConsignment Model by leveraging the infrastructures and good works of a variety of grassroots organizations. This type of local empowerment is what development is all about. CE Solutions is able to create incredible impact at a very low cost. This is in no small part due to the work of fellow NDSG member Social Entrepreneur Corps. Social Entrepreneur Corps trains and deploys universities students, recent graduates and young professionals as interns who work with our constituents in the field as consultants who support our work in needs analysis, feasibility analysis, pilot launch, support, scaling and evaluation. Social Entrepreneur Corps provides robust human and financial capital which enables Community Enterprise Solutions to achieve an incredible multiplier effect with its donor contributions.
