The Need:
There presently exists a lack of organized information about community outreach/impact entities working throughout the country.
Consequently, there is no appropriate database that is sufficiently accessible to individuals and organizations countrywide. Either
such information does not exist, or it is available in fragmented fashion that is difficult to encounter and navigate. Consequently it is
nearly impossible for villagers to access critical information about organizations seeking to serve them and as well for organizations
seeking collaboration with others working in their regions or focus area.

Description:
To solve this problem Soluciones Comunitarias is endeavoring to collect useful information from local and international NGOs and
socially minded small businesses. The goal is to create a Spanish website called ParaLaComunidad.com (“for the community”) to
provide access to an extensive, organized network of entities that address community needs. This will greatly enhance the currently
prohibitive process of locating organizations for both individuals and other organizations alike. Within this effort, the following
information is gathered from organizations at no cost, is posted on the www.paralacomunidad.com website and disseminated
throughout the country through field staff and community partners:
- Organization name
- Primary contact person
- Position/Role
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email Address
- Coverage
- Website
- Mission
- Statement of problem being addressed
- Organizational solution
- Organizational goals
- Beneficiaries
- Recent successes
The targeted beneficiaries of PLC are many; Guatemalan citizens, organizations, foreign volunteers, donors and any other interested
parties in need of organized and comprehensive information.
