CE Solutions -"Changing Obstacles into Opportunities"

MicroVenturing

MicroVenturingMicroVenturing (MV) is new social innovation co-created by Community Enterprise Solutions and the social entrepreneurship leadership team at the University of Notre Dame. MV is a consultancy, small venture design and “social venture capital” initiative to support local entrepreneurs with the growth of their current endeavors and/or in the start up of new ventures that will both be profitable and create positive community social impact.

MicroVenturingPrimary beneficiaries:
Families and individuals living in rural/isolated villages, local experienced and budding entrepreneurs

This is a new social innovation in the launch stage in the rural highlands of Guatemala.
During the first year we will create the following types of MV’s:

The MicroConsignment Model (MCM) Village Store:
Creating“tiendas” (village stores) that will carry MCM products, including high impact products and solutions that are more difficult to distribute through MCM’s more traditional campaign model, e.g. solar, irrigation, and water filtration products.

The Defined MicroVenture:
Creating microentrepreneurial opportunities as identified by CE Solutions/Social Entrepreneur Corps and Notre Dame in response to village needs and desires.  We will build business “boxes,” train entrepreneurs, provide necessary infrastructural support and financing.

The Open MicroVenture:
Empowering micro entrepreneurs that have defined the need and market, and we provide consulting and support to help identify best location, training, etc.
